Social Membership Fees
One-off Social Joining Fee:

Total Payable with a New Membership Application:
AUD $50.00
Thereafter, the SPInc Social Membership renewal fee is AUD $25.00 annually.

Any court, venue or individual playing fees associated with a particular session are separate from your SPInc Social Membership fee and are payable as applicable.

Please note that SPInc social membership is for participation in the Club’s social activities and organised social play.

If you wish to compete in sanctioned tournaments or official competitions, you will also need to obtain membership with Pickleball Australia through an affiliated state association.

This competition registration is separate from your SPInc Social Membership.

Member Benefits

1. Once your membership application has been approved, you will become a Social Member of Southside Pickleball Inc. (SPInc).
2. Access to organised social playing sessions.
3. An invitation to join our Spond app, where all club playing sessions are managed.
4. An invitation to join the SPInc Social WhatsApp Group
   for club news, social events and general communication.
5. An invitation to join the SPInc Important Play Messages WhatsApp Group for important announcements, session updates and playing information.

IMPORTANT: By completing and submitting the SPInc Social Membership Application and paying the applicable membership fee, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to the Membership Declaration, Personal Responsibility & Safety provisions, participation conditions, Club rules and other terms contained on this page.

Personal Responsibility & Safety

I understand and acknowledge that pickleball is a physical sporting activity involving inherent risks, including but not limited to falls, collisions, strains, sprains, fractures, concussion and other physical injuries.

By participating in SPInc activities:

• I consider myself physically capable of participating and understand that it is my responsibility to determine whether I am fit to play and to seek appropriate medical advice where necessary.
• I accept responsibility for playing within my own abilities and limitations.
• I agree to exercise reasonable care for my own safety and the safety of other participants.
• I understand that different players have different levels of ability, experience, mobility and competitiveness, and I agree to modify the intensity and style of my play where reasonably appropriate for the people sharing the court with me.
• I understand that I may choose not to participate in a game or may request a change of court, partner or opponent if I am uncomfortable with the circumstances of play.
• I acknowledge and voluntarily accept the ordinary and inherent risks associated with participating in pickleball and SPInc social activities.

Nothing in this declaration is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.

Injuries & Incident Reporting

If I am injured or involved in an accident or incident while participating in a SPInc-organised session, I agree to:

• stop playing and seek appropriate assistance where necessary;
• notify the relevant venue as soon as reasonably practicable; and
• request that the incident is formally documented through the venue’s incident-reporting process.

All injuries, accidents or incidents are to be reported to the venue at the time they occur, even where an injury initially appears minor.

SPInc organises social play but does not own or operate the venues at which we play. Members are responsible for making their own enquiries regarding any personal accident, health, sporting or other insurance they may wish to maintain.

Completing Your Application

To apply for SPInc Social Membership, you must:

1. Complete the SPInc Membership Application Form in full, including an emergency contact other than yourself.
2. Read and agree to the Membership Declaration, safety information, Club rules and conditions.
3. Pay the applicable SPInc Social Membership fee directly into the Club account.
4. Have your membership application approved in accordance with the Club’s Constitution and membership procedures.

Submission of an application or payment of a fee does not, by itself, guarantee acceptance of membership.

Your Agreement

By submitting this application and paying the applicable SPInc Social Membership fee, you confirm that:

• you have read and understood the information on this page;
• you agree to the Membership Declaration and participation conditions;
• you acknowledge the inherent risks associated with participating in pickleball;
• you accept responsibility for your own conduct, playing decisions and safety while exercising reasonable care towards others;
• you agree to comply with SPInc’s Constitution, rules, policies and reasonable directions;
• you understand the distinction between SPInc Social Membership and Pickleball Victoria/Pickleball Australia competition registration; and
• you understand that your application is subject to acceptance in accordance with the Club’s Constitution and membership procedures.
